MINUTE
TAKING

Governance House is a team of specialist Minute Takers who are experts in their field.

Effective minute taking is a deceptively difficult and time-consuming task and is far more than an administrative formality. Minutes are a written and permanent record of the business transacted at a meeting and of the decisions reached.

At Governance House, our attention to detail and excellent listening and note-taking skills result in Minutes that are: objective, clear, concise and complete. Minutes prepared by our expert minute takers are an accurate and independent record and represent a key resource for your governing body (both present and future). Our specialists will effectively: listen to multiple voices; summarise an argument accurately; record decisions and identify actions and recognise the material parts of a discussion. They have the confidence to request clarification or amplification and will stand firm when asked to deviate from the record. At Governance House we believe that Minutes should provide a balance between detailed commentary and a succinct overview of items discussed at a meeting. We listen, analyse and work with you to devise a template and style that works for your organisation.

Our passion for accurate and timely Minutes results in the freeing up of resources, allowing a governing body to focus on the important jobs of strategy, governance and compliance.

The experienced team at Governance House are adept at remaining impartial, neutral, and objective. Minutes are both our speciality and our passion.

POLICY & PROCEDURES
REVIEW & DEVELOPMENT

Effective policies and procedures are the cornerstone of good governance.

Drawing on our experience across a range of organisations and industries, we work closely with our clients to ensure that governance and organisational policies and procedures are both compliant and effective.

At Governance House we know that the drivers for development or renewal of policy or procedure are varied and may include: legislative change; resolution of the governing body; modifications to strategy; the regular lifecycle of development and renewal; issues identified in implementation or from identification of gaps in policy coverage.

At Governance House, we aim to facilitate policies and procedures that:

• can be applied broadly across an organisation

• are enduring, requiring infrequent change

• sets the course for the foreseeable future

• support operational efficiency

• are aimed at reducing or managing institutional risk

• are relevant and transparent in its intent and meaning

• are developed with consultation

• assign authority for decisions or actions as required

• comply with legislative and regulatory requirements.

In developing your Policies and Procedures Manual we provide an end to end solution. The Governance House team will work with you to establish your needs and then undertake all of the necessary research, analysis and benchmarking in order to prepare a draft. We undertake appropriate consultation and edit the drafts as required. We seek expert advice where necessary and ensure appropriate endorsement of any new or updated policy or procedure. Finally, we assist with the communication and implementation and facilitation of a system of periodic monitoring and review.

No policy job is too big or too small.
